Join us for worship on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Crown Heights as we gather for a powerful Communion Sunday rooted in remembrance, resilience, and hope. The service opens with I Came to Give Him Glory, followed by the Call to Worship led by Rev. Dr. Ava Jolley. Together, we affirm that though we have been troubled, persecuted, and cast down, we have not been destroyed—sustained by faith in God, hope for the future, and love for one another. As we come to the table, we remember the sacrifices of our ancestors and recommit ourselves to breaking the chains that still bind our communities.
We will lift our voices in the Morning Hymn Lift Him Up (#547), followed by congregational prayer led by Rev. Beaulah E. Smith. The choir will respond with He Knows Just How Much We Can Bear by Rev. James Cleveland, reminding us of God’s sustaining strength. Sis. Alecia Mason will share Life at First Baptist, and we will continue in worship through the Ministry of Giving—online giving is available through the link in the description.
The Scripture reading from Joshua 4:19–21 (New Living Translation) will ground us in the call to remember what God has done. Our hearts will be prepared through the meditation I Really Love the Lord by Jimmy Dowell, followed by the sermon preached by Rev. Dr. Rashad Raymond Moore. We will then come together at the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion, welcoming new members through the Right Hand of Fellowship and sharing in Communion with Because He Lives as we receive the bread and the cup.
The service will conclude with Blessed by Fred Hammond and the Benediction led by Rev. Moore, sending us forth strengthened, focused, and sustained for the work ahead. Come worship with us as we remember where we’ve been, honor those who came before us, and trust God for where we are going.
