The service opens with the Unique David Chavis Male Chorus lifting praise through Clap Your Hands by 7 Sons of Soul. Rev. Dr. Christine Caton will lead the Call to Worship with Advent Litany No. 100, followed by the Morning Hymn Jesus, the Light of the World (#217), centering our hearts on the hope of the season.
Rev. Beaulah E. Smith will guide us in congregational prayer, and the choir will offer a choral response with a soulful rendition of Silent Night by The Temptations. We’ll hear Life at First Baptist from Sis. Alecia Mason, our Church Clerk, and receive Pastoral Emphasis from Rev. Dr. Rashad Raymond Moore. Our Dance Ministry will bless us with a Christmas Medley set to the music of Maranda Curtis and Amanté Lacey. The Scripture reading from Isaiah 35:8–10 (The Living Bible) will prepare our hearts for the sermonic selection Holy One by Rance Allen. The sermon will be delivered by Minister Phillip Lee Anderson, Ministerial Intern, followed by the Invitation and Benediction with Blessed by Fred Hammond.
